FAQ

Main questions

WHAT GEAR DO YOU USE FOR YOUR SHOOTING?

The equipment I use for wedding shoots are the Canon 5D Mark III and the Canon 5D Mark IV. These two cameras, along with a variety of lenses, allow versatility among shots without interfering in the ceremony or reception. I refrain from using flash photography as much as possible, as natural lighting creates more idyllic images and is less invasive than using a flash.

HOW ARE TRAVEL EXPENSES FACTORED INTO THE INVESTMENT?

There is no extra charge for weddings that occur in Paris or in Ile-de-France. Any venues that are outside of the city limits, however, will incur an extra charge. The cost is calculated based on the distance from Paris to and from the venue and will be included in the contract. There are no surprise fees.

DO YOU REQUIRE AN IN-PERSON MEETING PRIOR TO THE BIG DAY?

While Skyping and other online meet and greets will suffice in a pinch, it is always preferable to meet with the bride and groom prior to the wedding. It is important for us to be able to meet and discuss the nuances of your special day, as I will be capturing the moments you want to remember for a lifetime. Each couple is unique, so meeting in person gives us a chance to go over the fine details of your wedding and answer any questions you might have.

ARE YOU WILLING TO TRAVEL?

I live in Asnières-sur-Seine, but I am always happy to travel within the country to shoot one's wedding. Most of my clientele are based in Paris, Île-de-France and Bourgogne Franche-Comtél however, I love to travel, and I remain open to all destinations.

HOW DO YOU JUSTIFY YOUR PRICES?

Wedding day photography is an investment. There are many individuals who pose as wedding photographers but lack the education and experience necessary for capturing one of the most important days of a couple's life with the nuance necessary for deeming it timeless. I am a professional wedding photographer with years of experience in my field as well as education of my trade. I have invested not only my own money in the highest quality equipment on the market but also my time as a second photographer, working my way up to owning my own business in a craft that I love and am passionate about. Beyond my experience and equipment, however, it is important to remember that a wedding photographer's rate reflects the work and effort put into your event. This work includes back-up support, day-to-day photos, and downstream processing that takes several days. My philosophy is very simple: I shoot each and every wedding as if it were my very own.

HOW LONG SHOULD I BOOK IN ADVANCE?

The answer to this question is simple: As soon as possible. Many married couples reserve their dates twelve months before the date of their marriage. Booking early allows time to prepare and get details in order without rush. Advance bookings provide us sufficient time to meet and discuss ideas for your wedding photography style. For example, if you book well in advance, you can have the opportunity to do a "first look" and see different styles that you wouldn't otherwise consider if pressed for time. Having your wedding photography booked well in advance allows you to have more creative liberty and increased peace of mind.

DO YOU PROVIDE COUPLE SESSIONS ON THE WEDDING DAY ITSELF?

I am at your service on your wedding day, so if you would like a couple session, I am more than happy to schedule accordingly. Couple sessions typically last around half an hour and are taken while your guests are enjoying cocktail hour. Couple sessions do provide an excellent time to capture the joy of your first moments as husband and wife.

HOW LONG DO YOU SPEND WITH US?

The amount of time I spend on your wedding day is entirely dependent upon your wishes. I am capable of being present from the day before until the brunch the day after. As far as the actual wedding day goes, I can start my services as early as 8am and stay until midnight. It is entirely up to what your desires for your big day are in terms of capturing the right moments.

WHAT IS THE TIME FRAME FOR GROUP PHOTOS ON THE DAY OF?

In order to make group photos as time efficient and enjoyable for everyone involved, I ask that brides and grooms provide me with a list of groups beforehand or have a trusted guest provide it to me on the day of your wedding. Doing so will allow group photos to be coordinated in advanced and seamless in terms of time. You should allow for about two minutes per group photo.

WHAT ARE PREPARATIONS?

One of my favorite moments to capture as a wedding photographer are the preparations. They are those special seconds leading up to your wedding where everyone is getting reading when the excitement is most palpable. This behind the scenes environment allows me to familiarize myself with both you and your family, letting everyone get used to my presence, and giving me the opportunity to capture candid moments of love. Children are always welcome in this portion of the photography.

ONCE THE PHOTOS OF THE WEDDING RECEIVED, DO YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHTS TO THEM?

According to French law, the photographs are always the property of the photographer; that copyright cannot be forfeited. However, with that being said, I leave you the opportunity to use your photos as you see fit, including posting them on the Internet and on various social networks and printing them for personal use.

HOW ARE PHOTOS ACCESSIBLE?

I deliver all the photos through an online gallery. All photos are all downloadable for free and can be accessed by the bride and groom as well as anyone who you decide to share the gallery with. Brides and grooms will also be able to mark some photos as private, so outside viewers can only see certain photographs. I also create photo albums for your big day, and some of my packages include prints of the photographs.

WHEN SHOULD WE EXPECT TO HAVE ACCESS TO OUR PHOTOS?

The package selected dictates the number of photos received and the amount of time it takes to process those photos. In general, however, it typically takes two to three weeks for photos to be accessible.

ARE THE PHOTOGRAPHS EDITED AND REFINED?

Without exception, each photograph is post processed and edited with the utmost care. It is crucial that the photos are beautiful when they stand alone, but it is also important that each photo flows in exceptionally with the other prints. Some common retouches include color adjustments, alignment, contrast, black and white conversion, and brightness adjustments.
