THE BEST PHOTO SPOTS AT ABBAYE DE SAINTE CROIX

This venue is visually stunning, but it requires a bit of planning to mThis venue is an incredible playground for photography — especially if you love natural textures and organic landscapes.

    My favorite spots:

    • The terrace overlooking the valley (a must)
    • The pathways and surrounding areas of the estate
    • Around the pool for a more relaxed, summery feel

    Best time for photos:
Mid-afternoon works really well, but some areas behind the venue can get darker earlier than expected.

    Lighting notes:

    • The terrace often creates backlighting, so it’s important to plan for that in your timeline
    • The getting-ready suite with its rooftop terrace is amazing — bright, open, and perfect for natural, editorial-style photos

    Tip:
Plan a portrait session later in the day — the light becomes much softer and enhances the landscape beautifully.

    FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER’S PERSPECTIVE

What I love most about this venue is how visually cohesive everything feels.

The light, the stone, the natural tones… everything works together. You don’t need to search for great spots — they’re everywhere.

One of my favorite moments I’ve captured here was a couple walking away along an old road, surrounded by pale stone, wild Provençal grasses, and a deep blue sky. Simple, but incredibly powerful visually.

    Photographer tip:
Take the time to explore the entire property. There are hidden spots that aren’t immediately obvious but can completely elevate a photo session.
