The best photo spots at domaine des barrenques
Château des Barrenques is incredibly photogenic but knowing where and when makes a big difference.
Top photo locations:
- Lavender fields. A must if you’re getting married in season
- The front courtyard and terrace of the magnanerie. Ideal for cocktails and candid guest moments
- The “Cathedral of Plane Trees” alley. A majestic, shaded setting perfect for intimate ceremonies
- Garden and fountain areas — elegant backdrops with soft light
- Facade of the château. Timeless couple portraits
Best time for photos: Early afternoon works beautifully, especially around the gardens and main facade.
Lighting tip: For indoor getting-ready photos, use the main living room rather than the billiard room for softer, more flattering light.
From a Photographer’s Perspective
What I love most about photographing here is how alive the space feels throughout the day.
Guests naturally spread out. Enjoying drinks in the courtyard, relaxing by the pool, and soaking in the setting. It creates a lot of genuine, unforced moments.
One of my favorite images I’ve taken here was of the couple in the garden, photographed from a window inside the house. A quiet, intimate perspective that really captured the atmosphere of the place.
Pro tip for photographers (and couples planning prep spaces):
Use the main living room for getting ready instead of the billiard room. The light is much better and makes a huge difference in the photos.
